Activity

Definition

A task completed as part of a project, stand-alone task, or unplanned task. An activity must always have a spatial definition (point or polygon) depending on the activity category and type.

Activity Examples:

  • Activities related to a Plan or Project (e.g., treatment for an SFA WUI grant Project, completion of a management plan, etc.)

  • Assessments 

  • Collaboratives 

  • Community Assists 

  • Employee Training

  • Landowner Assists (e.g., site visits)

  • Outreach Programs (e.g., education program)

Add a new Activity to a DPA Plan

Overview Information:

Activity Name (e.g., Unit 2)

DPA Plan: Select the appropriate DPA plan (e.g., Northwest Area FY 2023)

Project: Select the appropriate Project

Category: Select One

      • State Land Board Property Treatments: Use Asset ID number located on the CSFS State Trust Land Lease spreadsheet located at \\csfsso.acns.colostate.edu\AgencySharedFolder\Forest Planning and Implementation\State Lands\State Trust Land Leases

      • Public Utilities Treatments: Use contract or agreement number from relevant Service Agreement provided on final agreement or by Program Specialist

      • Colorado Parks and Wildlife Treatments: Use CMS Number from relevant Interagency Agreement (IAA) provided on final agreement or by Program Specialist

      • *In the event that there are multiple agreements that apply to a single Forest Management Treatment, use the primary landowner agreement number.

        • Example: A forest management treatment on USFS lands that has funding from a GNA SPA and an NFF agreement to cover staffing should have the GNA SPA agreement number listed for the unique ID.

Comments: Enter comments specific to the activity if desired/applicable

 Status/ Dates:

  • Planned:

    • Date: Based on kick-off meetings for grants. The forester responsible will enter this information after the kick-off meeting.

    • UOM Value: Enter planned unit of measure (UOM) Value for activity (e.g., 20)

  • In Progress: Enter this in GeoTracks when Activity is in Progress

  • Completed: Enter this in GeoTracks when Activity is completed

Location

  • User may select “Use Project Location” if activity is associated with a project, otherwise, the address of activity location can be typed in or a point can be dropped on the map

  • Priority Analysis Tool – an optional planning tool to evaluate the maximum values from the 2020 Colorado Forest Action Plan composite priority, forest conditions, watershed protection, and living with wildfire maps for a project or activity.

    • Note: uploading spatial data does not tie spatial data to the Activity or Project

 Funding

  • User will select “Add Source” and then select from the dropdown “Funding Source”

    • If known, user should select appropriate account and/or subaccounts from dropdown options

Account Number – if the account number is known, such as a competitive grant account, select from available dropdowns

Subaccount Number – if subaccount number is known, select from available dropdowns

  • Example:

    • Select both “Healthy Forests &Vibrant Communities” and “State Fire Assistance” funding sources for a completed CWPP.

    • Select “Colorado Parks & Wildlife” and “WUI Competitive Grants” for a forest management treatment that included funding from CPW via an Interagency Agreement and received a WUI competitive grant.

  • If there are multiple funding sources for one Project, the user should select “Add Source” again and continue to select dropdown options for other funding sources and accounts

Landowner:

  • Landowner(s) can be selected from an existing list that has previously been entered or added in the Planner. Add one or more landowners to the associated activity.

 Personnel Information:

  • Assign one or more staff who will be working on the activity. This information is needed to allow staff to query activities assigned to them vs. having to sort through a list of all activities.

  • Staff Responsible: Name of the individual who is the primary point of contact for the Project.

          *Note: Once you begin typing names will auto-populate a list to select from
