Overview of Wildfire Risk Viewer

This application is accessible to any supported web browser and does not require registration or a login.

The featured tool in this application is called “Identify Your Fire Intensity.” It allows users to identify potential wildfire intensity near their home, or any other point of interest on the map, and provides a link to additional resources for users wanting to know how to reduce their risk.

Access Directly Through the Website

To access the Wildfire Risk Viewer through the website, follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Navigate to https://coloradoforestatlas.org/

  2. Scroll down to the Public Applications

  3. Click the WILDFIRE RISK VIEWER card to the right

Access Through Forest Atlas Portal

To access the Wildfire Risk Viewer through the Forest Atlas Portal, follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Navigate to https://coloradoforestatlas.org/

  2. Click the Sign In button in the middle of the page

  3. Enter your approved sign in credentials and click LOGIN

  4. On the portal screen, under Public click Wildfire Risk Viewer

Welcome Screen

When the Wildfire Risk Viewer loads, the above welcome screen appears on the screen. The welcome screen provides a brief introduction to the application, explaining the application’s primary use, as well as, the primary tool of the application, the Identify Your Fire Intensity Rating tool.

The welcome screen will automatically cycle through a series of Colorado fire facts. This is intended to help the public user gain awareness of the historical fire conditions in Colorado.

To continue to the Viewer, follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Click on the OPEN DISCLAIMER button to read the application’s Disclaimer

  2. Once you have read the Disclaimer, click the I ACCEPT button to start using the Wildfire Risk Viewer
